'L2: Empuraan' team releases first teaser trailer on Republic Day

Entertainment: The most anticipated teaser trailer in the recent months of L2, Empuraan, was released at 7 pm on Republic Day, Sunday. Multi-talented Malayalam star/filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran’s third directorial, as well as the 2nd instalment of his Mohanlal starrer Lucifer, seems to be larger, bloodier and more brutal, the teaser suggests. The movie is scheduled to be released on March 27.
As per Prithviraj’s statement, Empuraan is the second of a trilogy, which began with Lucifer in 2019. It was Mammootty who revealed the teaser on the day at a grand event attended by the Empuraan team.
The teaser starts with visuals of the war-torn town of Qaraqosh in Iraq, and we can hear PK Ramdas's (Sachin Khedekar) advice to Priyadarshini (Manju Warrier) from the first film: “If there comes a day when you feel that everything around you is falling apart, and if I am not alive then, there will be only one person you can turn for help. Stephen!”
The teaser shows Stephen’s car draped in an old dusty cloth, a lady standing before a burning tree or so, etc.
A voiceover could be heard saying, “He leads the most powerful mercenary hit group in Asia.”
There were references to the Devil, the Eye of Providence, etc., with many slow-mo shots which are in dark shades. It’s totally an intriguing teaser trailer.
