Amid the ongoing expansion of India’s crypto sector, CoinDCX has introduced a unique literacy initiative in Mumbai, bringing discussions on digital assets to one of the city’s most frequented social hubs - tea stalls.

The initiative, called ‘Bitcoin Chai Cafe’, aims to foster conversations around cryptocurrency among working professionals, students, and mainstream financial communities.

As part of this campaign, CoinDCX is deploying mobile chai cafés to key financial districts and tech parks across Mumbai. Additionally, local tea vendors have been provided with specially branded cups featuring Bitcoin-related messaging, encouraging informal yet engaging discussions on cryptocurrency.

Prashant Verma, Chief Growth and Marketing Officer at CoinDCX, explained the inspiration behind the initiative: "Just as equity investors have traditionally gathered over chai to discuss stock market trends, we envision a similar culture emerging around crypto. This initiative is designed to resonate with the Indian public and spark organic conversations around the growing asset class."

Despite the lack of a dedicated regulatory framework, India’s crypto sector has seen steady growth.

According to a November 2024 report by the Bharat Web3 Association, India’s Web3 ecosystem includes over 400 companies, with Karnataka, Maharashtra, Telangana, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh emerging as key hubs for blockchain and crypto-related businesses.

India also ranked first on Chainalysis’ Global Crypto Adoption Index for the second consecutive year, highlighting the increasing interest in digital assets across the country.

While crypto continues to gain traction, industry leaders have repeatedly stressed the importance of investor education and responsible engagement. During India Blockchain Week 2024 in Bengaluru, Web3 stakeholders emphasised the need for widespread awareness to help investors navigate the volatility of digital assets safely.

In line with this effort, CoinDCX and other crypto firms like Mudrex have launched multiple awareness campaigns to educate investors about the risks and opportunities in the crypto market.

With ‘Bitcoin Chai Cafe’, CoinDCX is bringing these discussions to the grassroots level, ensuring that everyday investors have access to informed and meaningful conversations about the future of digital assets.
