Cricket: An explosive batter and well-built all-rounder among Indian cricketers, Hardik Pandya reached the top five Indian batters in T20Is, who scored the most runs in the format. Pandya overtook veteran Shikhar Dhawan to get the five, which Rohit Sharma led, NDTV reported.

Pandya reached the position after his excellent performance against England in Pune during the fourth T20I match in the ongoing series. He scored 53 from 34 balls, hitting seven boundaries and two sixes, with a strike rate of more than 155. When he took the strike, India in a bad position loosing 5 wickets to reach a mere 79. Pandya took a failing India from there to 181/9 in twenty overs.

Pandya had 89 innings from 113 T20Is to score 1,803 runs with an average of 28.17 with a strike rate of 141.63. He has five half-centuries in this format and bested 71 not out.

Dhawan, the fifth in the list before Pandya, scored 1,759 runs from 68 matches at an average of 27.92 and a strike rate of 126.36, but he had bested 92. He has 11 50s from 66 innings, according to NDTV.

The leading Indian, Rohit Sharma, is no other than the hitman. He scored 4,231 runs from 151 innings in 155 matches. He averaged 32.05 and had a strike rate of 140.89, hitting 5 centuries and 32 fifties. His best score is 121 not out.

He is followed by Virat Kohli (4,188 runs in 125 matches at an average of 48.69, with a century and 38 fifties) and Suryakumar Yadav (2,596 runs in 82 games and 78 innings at an average of 38.74, with four centuries and 21 fifties).
