Abhishek Bachchan responds to comparisons with Aishwarya amid divorce rumours
text_fieldsAbhishek Bachchan recently addressed the ongoing comparisons between him and his wife, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in light of speculations about their marriage.
In a candid interview with CNBC-TV18, Abhishek spoke about how these comparisons affect him, acknowledging that while it’s never easy, he’s learned to handle it over time.
Reflecting on the pressure of being compared to his legendary father, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek said, “It’s never going to get easy. But after 25 years of being asked the same question, I've become immune to it.” He added, "If you're comparing me to my father, you're comparing me to the best. And if I'm being compared to the best, then maybe I'm worthy of being considered alongside these great names."
Abhishek also took a moment to express his pride in his family, saying, "My parents are my parents, my family is my family, my wife is my wife, and I am immensely proud of them, their achievements and everything they continue to do."
The actor’s comments come amid persistent rumors about his marriage to Aishwarya, which gained momentum after the couple was seen arriving separately at a high-profile wedding in July. The speculation intensified when Abhishek liked an Instagram post discussing the rise in "grey divorces," fueling further assumptions about their relationship.
Abhishek and Aishwarya, who married in April 2007, have remained silent about the rumors. The couple shares a daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, born in November 2011.
On the work front, Abhishek and Aishwarya have shared the screen in several films, including Dhai Akshar Prem Ke (2000), Kuch Naa Kaho (2003), Dhoom 2 (2006), Umrao Jaan (2006), Guru (2007), Sarkar Raj (2008), and Raavan (2010).
