Suicide of Kerala 14-yr-old; brutal relentless ragging behind: mother
text_fieldsKochi/Kerala: A 14-year-old boy took his life in Kerala’s Kochi on January 15th afternoon, jumping from the 26th floor of his apartment building.
Now, his grieving mother has published a press release with harrowing details and the motive behind her little one's extreme step.
Parents of the boy Mihir found out that he was being subjected to relentless brutal ragging at his school, Global Public School, Thiruvaniyoor, in Kerala's Ernakulam district.
In the press release, Mihir’s mother, Rajna PM, said, “Through conversations with his friends and schoolmates, and by reviewing social media messages, we uncovered the horrific reality of what he endured. Mihir was subjected to brutal ragging, bullying, and physical assault by other students at school and on the school bus.”
She lamented, “Mihir was beaten, verbally abused, and forced to endure unimaginable humiliation even on his last day. He was forcibly taken to the washroom, made to lick a toilet seat, and had his head pushed into the toilet while it was flushed.”
“He was bullied for his skin colour. They didn’t end the cruelty even after his death. A shocking chat screenshot reveals the extent of their cruelty. They messaged, “fxxk nigga he actually died”, and celebrated his death,” she lamented.
She further said the school seemed reluctant to cooperate when she demanded accountability. She said that a social media page, “Justice for Mihir”, started by the school students, was later removed, which, according to her, clarified that the school is trying to cover up the issues that led to Mihir’s death to protect its reputation.
She said that an FIR had been registered and submitted a petition before the Chief Minister’s office, demanding an impartial investigation.
