'One temple, one well, one cremation ground': RSS chief calls for unity
text_fieldsAligarh: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for eradicating caste-based divisions within the Hindu community, urging the adoption of the principle of "one temple, one well, and one cremation ground" to promote social harmony.
During his ongoing five-day visit to Aligarh, Bhagwat addressed swayamsevaks at two shakhas held at HB Inter College and Panchan Nagri Park. Emphasising the need for genuine social unity, he said it is essential for India to fulfil its greater global responsibility of promoting peace.
According to RSS sources, Bhagwat highlighted the importance of "sanskar" (values) as the cornerstone of Hindu society and called for creating a social structure anchored in tradition, culture, and morality. He encouraged swayamsevaks to engage with all sections of society by welcoming them into their homes and spreading the message of harmony at the grassroots level.
He reaffirmed the central role of the family as the foundational unit of society, strengthened by values passed down through generations. Bhagwat also advocated for the collective celebration of festivals as a means to foster national unity and deepen social cohesion.
His visit, which began on April 17, includes daily sessions with RSS pracharaks from the Braj region and forms part of the preparations for the organisation's centenary celebrations, set to begin this Vijayadashami.
