HYDRAA acts on boy’s complaint, reclaims 39 acres of govt land in Hyderabad
text_fieldsHyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has successfully reclaimed 39 acres of government land in Raidurgam, Hyderabad, after responding to a complaint from a boy who was denied access to the area for playing cricket.
The boy had written to HYDRAA several months ago, reporting that a significant portion of land, which included a lake, was being encroached upon by a real estate company. He mentioned that he and others had been playing cricket in the area, but access was recently blocked as the company began selling plots on the land.
Following the complaint, HYDRAA officials conducted a thorough investigation, which revealed that the real estate company had constructed roads within the land, and the lake had been filled in. After confirming that the land was government property, HYDRAA took action despite the ongoing legal dispute, which had led to a court order directing both parties to maintain the status quo.
On Saturday, HYDRAA cleared the encroachments and demolished illegal structures, including a compound wall erected by the real estate company. New fencing was installed, and boards were placed to designate the land as government property. Additionally, a police complaint was filed against the real estate firm for their unauthorized activities.
HYDRAA officials confirmed that the boy’s complaint played a pivotal role in prompting the agency to take swift action to restore the land.
