On her 43rd birthday, beloved actress Anushka Shetty delighted fans by announcing her entry into Malayalam cinema with Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer, directed by Rojin Thomas.

The film stars Jayasurya in the lead role, with Anushka playing the character of Nila, a skilled weaver.

The announcement came alongside a captivating teaser that shows her character, set against visuals of weaving threads, hinting at a mystical storyline.

Sharing the teaser on Instagram, the makers of the film wrote, "Wishing a magical birthday to our dear Anushka Shetty! Magic awaits!"

Produced by Gokulam Gopalan under Sree Gokulam Movies, Kathanar – The Wild Sorcerer boasts a star-studded cast including Prabhu Deva and Vineeth, adding to the anticipation around the film.

In addition to Kathanar, Anushka has also unveiled her first look in Ghaati, her second collaboration with director Krish Jagarlamudi after the 2010 hit Vedam. The gritty poster, featuring Anushka smoking a pipe with an intense gaze, bears the tagline “Victim, criminal, legend,” and was shared by the makers on social media with a birthday message for “The Queen” Anushka Shetty. Produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Jagarlamudi under UV Creations, Ghaati will be released in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Anushka’s fans have a lot to look forward to with these thrilling new projects showcasing her versatility across industries and languages.
