The United Arab Emirates has expressed support for the recently announced ceasefire between the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the Republic of Rwanda in the North Kivu region.

Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, emphasized the longstanding ties between the UAE and the African continent and praised the efforts of the Republic of Angola and the African Union in securing the agreement.

Sheikh Shakhboot stressed the importance of maintaining a permanent ceasefire and urged both parties to commit to a diplomatic solution through dialogue. He highlighted the need to build trust and secure sustainable peace, aiming for stability and prosperity for both countries and their citizens.
