UAE leaders extend Ramadan greetings as holy month begins
text_fieldsUAE leaders have extended their heartfelt wishes to residents and Muslims worldwide as the holy month of Ramadan begins on March 1, 2025, following the sighting of the crescent moon.
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan took to social media platform X to convey his blessings soon after the official announcement.
"As the holy month of Ramadan begins, I wish all those observing in the UAE and around the world a blessed month. Together, we pray for God to bestow His mercy on us and grant peace, harmony and unity to all," he said.
Similarly, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, shared his Ramadan greetings:
"A generous month, generous people, and blessed days... We congratulate the people of the Emirates and the Arab and Islamic nations on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. We ask God to accept prayers, supplications and all good deeds. And to return it to everyone with security, faith, safety and Islam."
Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, also wished blessings upon the nation and the world:
"On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, I congratulate the people of the Emirates and the Islamic people, and I ask God Almighty to make it a month of goodness, mercy and blessings for our country and the world. The holy month is an occasion to promote the values of goodness, giving and compassion in societies."
Meanwhile, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, shared his Ramadan message:
"Ramadan Mubarak. A month of mercy, blessings, and generosity. A season of giving, compassion, and unity. May Allah bless our nation, leadership and people, as well as the Arab and Islamic communities, with goodness and prosperity."
Saudi Arabia had also confirmed March 1 as the first day of Ramadan after the crescent moon was sighted on Friday evening. The announcement aligns with the UAE’s confirmation, marking the start of the month of fasting, reflection, and community spirit across the region.
