Sharjah announced on Thursday, March 6 that the SMS payment format for public parking users has been standardized across all cities in the emirate.

The Sharjah Municipality also stated that the city code 'KH' previously used in Khor Fakkan has been removed. This step is part of ongoing efforts to improve the public parking experience in Sharjah and provide a smoother and more efficient service.

Since the last quarter of 2024, Sharjah has implemented multiple changes in its parking system, including seven-day parking zones, a smart parking system, parking fees in Al Dhaid and parking fees in Kalba city.

Last week, Sharjah introduced a new app called Mawqef, which allows users to pay public parking fees and check and settle fines. The app features interactive maps to help users locate subscription zones and smart parking yards across the emirate.
