New York: His Highness the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, representing His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Indian delegation’s residence in New York. The leaders held discussions on enhancing bilateral relations and addressing regional and international developments.

This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and marked the first direct interaction between Prime Minister Modi and the Crown Prince of Kuwait. Both leaders emphasized the importance of the long-standing relationship between India and Kuwait, particularly highlighting the strong historical ties and people-to-people connections.

Prime Minister Modi expressed India's commitment to strengthening relations with Kuwait, especially in key areas such as energy and food security, where both countries have been supporting each other. He also thanked the Crown Prince for ensuring the well-being of the large Indian community in Kuwait, which is the largest diaspora in the country.

Key Kuwaiti officials, including Sheikh Dr. Mishal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director General of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) and other senior diplomatic figures, accompanied the Crown Prince.

This high-level meeting is expected to inject new momentum into India-Kuwait relations, with both nations reaffirming their commitment to deepening and diversifying bilateral ties for mutual benefit.
