text_fieldsAgra: In Uttar Pradesh’s Agra, two unidentified individuals shot a Muslim man to death, apparently avenging the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir that killed 26 tourists on Tuesday, 22nd April. The Agra incident happened on Wednesday, and the incident gathered widespread attention after two individuals posted a video on Instagram claiming responsibility for shooting the Muslim man, Siasat reported.
The deceased Muslim man was identified as Gulfam, who, along with his brother, Saif Ali, was shutting down the biriyani eatery where they work for the day. The attackers had shot at both of them, but Saif Ali managed a narrow escape with a neck wound.
In the viral video were two men claiming responsibility for the firing attack; they identified themselves as members of ‘Kshatriya Gauraksha Dal’, and they can be heard claiming responsibility for the killing.
One of them in the video could be heard saying “Bharat Mata ki saugandh, 26 ka badla agar 2,600 se na liya toh mei Bharat Mata ka putr nahi, Jai shri Ram, Jai Hindu Rashtra, Bharat Mata ki Jai.”
This could be translated as, “I take an oath on Mother India, if I do not take revenge for 26 with 2,600, I am not a son of Mother India, Jai Shri Ram, Jai Hindu Nation, Hail Mother India.”
The video, which was available on X is not there anymore.
Meanwhile, Agra Police claimed that there is no organization named Kshatriya Gau Raksha Dal operating in Agra. They issued a warning that no unverified or misleading content should be spread on social media, adding that legal action will be taken against those responsible.
Police then claimed that the attack happened in Agra after a dispute over food.
