Jamia Millia entrance exam: Exam centre approved in Kozhikode

New Delhi: Jamia Millia Islamia, a central university, has now designated Kozhikode as an entrance exam centre. This decision comes in response to the protests raised after certain centres were removed.

Previously, the Jamia entrance exam centres were located in cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram. However, this year, the Thiruvananthapuram centre was removed, and new centres were set up in Bhopal and Malegaon.

The removal of Thiruvananthapuram, the only centre in South India, had led to significant backlash, particularly from students in South India. Members of Parliament, including Haris Beeran, P. Santhosh Kumar, and Shashi Tharoor, expressed their concerns about this issue.

MP Haris Beeran even sent a letter to the Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia.
