text_fieldsThiruvananthapuram: The Enforcement Directorate on Friday raided offices of Gokulam Gopalan, one of the producers of Mohanlal-starrer Empuraan, amid right-wing group’s protests against the movie for its portrayal of 2002 Gujarat riots.
It is reported that raid is underway at Gopalan’s Chennai office of Sree Gokulam Chits and Finance, a leading firm helmed by Gopalan, The Indian Express reported.
Responding to criticism from RSS, Gopalan offered to remove scenes or dialogues from the movie if they hurt anyone.
‘The film was not intended to hurt anyone. If any dialogue or scene in the film hurt anyone, I told Prithviraj Sukumaram to make the necessary changes. Certain words have already been muted. There is a protest against certain things in the film. I have asked the director to make the necessary changes. We are not involved in any politics,’ Gopalan was quoted as saying.
Gopalan has investments in areas including hospitality, media, health, education, transport and logistics.
