Social media: Actress Vidya Balan has warned her fans about the many AI-generated fake videos featuring herself circulating on the internet. The Bollywood star shared a post on Instagram with an AI-generated video of herself talking to warn fans about such videos. The actress also said that she requests them to be aware of misinformation and careful before sharing the videos. The actress clarified that she has no part in the ideas propagated by the videos.

“There are multiple videos currently circulating on social media and WhatsApp that appear to feature me. However, I want to clarify that the videos are AI-generated and inauthentic. I have no involvement in its creation or dissemination, nor do I endorse its content in any way. Any claims made in the videos should not be attributed to me, as they do not reflect my views or work. I urge everyone to verify the information before sharing and be cautious of misleading AI-generated content. #FakeAlert #StayAware,” Vidya Balan wrote on Instagram.

This is not the first time that a fake AI video has been used to portray a celebrity in a bad light. Earlier, Rashmika Mandanna was in the news after a deepfake video went viral. Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Aamir Khan, Sachin Tendulkar, etc. have also faced similar problems.
