Bhopal: After Hindu outfits called out Shah Rukh Khan Starrer " Pathaan' over obscenity, now a Muslim body in Madhya Pradesh demanded for the movie be stopped from releasing in theatres.

Madhya Pradesh's Ulema Board's demand comes on the heels of the more widespread protests by VHP after a song "Besharam Rang' was released days before.

Earlier the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha and other Hindu outfits burned the effigy of Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in Agra, protesting against Deepika Padukone wearing an orange bikini in visuals of the song.

The secretary of Hindu Mahasabha, Sanjay Jaat, accused the movie of hurting Hindu sentiments, and threatened it would not be allowed in any theatre in Agra.

Hindu outfits claim that Deepika Padukone wearing an orange bikini played in the hands of the anti-Hindu Bollywood lobby.

Ulema Board's president Syed Anas Ali said that 'Pathaans' were a highly respected community and the movie disrespects Islam.

Anas Ali also said, alongside blaming that Islam has been approached incorrectly in the movie, that he received calls and complaints about vulgarity in the movie as well.

"A film named Pathaan has been made in which Shah Rukh Khan is the hero, people see him and like him. But we have received calls and complaints and they have expressed anger over the obscenity that has been spread inside this film and Islam has been propagated wrongly," Syed Anas Alis was quoted by India Today as saying.
