Meghan Markle's Netflix show on herself overly scripted: father
text_fieldsLondon: Thomas Markle, father of Meghan Markle, called his daughter’s new Netflix series, ‘With Love, Meghan’ inauthentic and disconnected from reality. Talking to the Daily Mail on Sunday, Thomas accused the Duchess of Sussex of “faking it for the cameras” as well as trying excessively to maintain her public image, reports The Indian Express.
Married to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Meghan shares her love for jam-making in the series and opens up about her late grandmother Doris, who passed away in 2011. She says that she hopes that her children associate the scent of slow-cooked fruit with coming home from school. However, Thomas believes that his mother, Doris, would not have supported Meghan’s decision to distance herself from Markle’s name.
“Meghan never had a problem with the Markle name until she met Prince Harry. Now I have to say, ‘I am Meghan Sussex’s dad.”
Thomas told Daily Mail that his mum loved Meghan very much, but she would be so disappointed to hear that Meghan no longer wants to use the name ‘Markle. His mother was proud to be a Markle, and so was he.
He said that she never had a problem with the Markle name until she met Prince Harry.
“Now I have to say, ‘I am Meghan Sussex’s dad,” Thomas Markle said.
He did not watch the entire show by Megan’s on Netflix, but some clips he came across online. He judges her show based on that, saying that the show is overly scripted.
“You have to be authentic to hold people’s attention. Unfortunately, Meghan has never been authentic. She has to think about everything. She’s not spontaneous. Everything she says is pre-planned and rehearsed,” TIE quoted what Thomas told Daily Mail.
