The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) celebrated a significant victory in Punjab’s Assembly bypolls, winning three out of four contested seats.

Senior party leader Raghav Chadha described the results as a “stamp of approval” for the Bhagwant Mann-led government and a reflection of Arvind Kejriwal’s leadership at the helm of the party.

Speaking to reporters, Chadha highlighted that the three seats won—Chabbewal, Gidderbaha, and Dera Baba Nanak—were constituencies where AAP had never previously triumphed. “Even during the 2022 Punjab Assembly elections, when there was a massive wave in favor of AAP, we couldn’t win these seats. This result shows that the people are recognizing the good work done by our government over the last two-and-a-half years,” he said.

Chadha also noted the close contest in the fourth seat, Barnala, where AAP narrowly missed victory.

Reflecting on the broader political scenario, Chadha remarked on the mixed fortunes of the opposition INDIA bloc. In Maharashtra, the ruling BJP-Shiv Sena alliance secured a significant win, while in Jharkhand, the alliance retained its position under Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

“In Maharashtra, the ruling coalition achieved a notable victory, but in Jharkhand, the people rejected negative and vendetta politics, giving a strong mandate to Hemant Soren and the INDIA bloc. This result underlines the importance of governance and development-focused politics,” Chadha said.

He added that a detailed analysis of the Maharashtra results would follow, signaling that the bloc remains committed to addressing challenges.

The bypoll victories reinforce AAP’s growing influence in Punjab, with Chadha crediting the wins to the government’s performance and people-centric policies. “This is a testament to the faith people have in the leadership of Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal,” he concluded, congratulating party workers for their relentless efforts.
