"You want my blood, but you won't get it": Pinarayi Vijayan breaks silence on daughter’s fraud case
text_fieldsKerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has dismissed the ongoing Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) probe involving his daughter as politically motivated, stating that neither he nor the CPI(M) is concerned about the allegations.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Vijayan responded firmly to questions regarding the case. “I know you want my blood, but you won’t get it easily,” he remarked, taking a direct shot at critics calling for his resignation.
The CM made it clear that the SFIO case is currently in court and will be addressed through legal channels. “You can keep hoping for my resignation,” he said, indicating he has no plans to step down.
The controversy involves alleged illegal payments received by Vijayan’s daughter’s IT firm from a private mining company, CMRL. Reports suggest that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) may soon register a case, even as the Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs has reportedly given the green light for prosecution in the SFIO case.
Vijayan, however, emphasised that all income received by his daughter’s firm was duly taxed. “The media is conveniently ignoring the fact that income tax and GST were paid on those payments,” he added.
